County Unveils Census 2010 Website County Unveils Census 2010 Website - The County has launched a new website to educate and motivate residents to take part in the upcoming 2010 Census by completing and returning their census questionnaire. By logging onto www.census.lacounty.gov, residents can learn why it’s important to take part in the count. An undercount is 2000 is estimated to have lost the County an $636 million in federal funding.

211 is an easy to remember three-digit dialing code that enables a caller to access information about more than 28,000 health and human service programs throughout Los Angeles County 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is TTY accessible. 211 LA County, formerly known as INFO Line of Los Angeles, has been providing these services since 1981.

   Cities
There are 88 cities in Los Angeles County, each with its own city council. All of the cities, in varying degrees, contract with the County to provide municipal services. The County provides some services for all residents, like public health protection, public social services, property assessment and vital records.

   Unincorporated Areas
Get information about services provided to residents of unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County. More than 65 percent of the County is unincorporated and approximately 1 million people live in these areas. The Board of Supervisors acts as the "city council" and County departments provide the municipal services.
