Consumer protection, small claims advisor, real estate fraud and homeowner assistance, dispute settlement, and senior abuse and fraud protection are among the consumer affairs programs offered by the County.


Highlights



Homeowners Warned of Misleading Offers to Lower Taxes
Homeowners are warned to be wary of solicitations from private companies offering to file property assessment reduction forms for a fee. The County performs these reviews for free.

Consumer Affairs Volunteers/Interns
The County provides opportunities for volunteers and interns to assist with consumer counseling, mediation, investigations and special projects. The program may qualify for high school and college class credit.

Gasoline Station Complaints
The Agricultural Commissioner/Weights and Measures investigates consumer complaints against gasoline stations. You can file a complaint online through this link.
