The County enforces all state and local laws relating to the control, licensing, humane investigations, or rescuing of all animals within the unincorporated areas of the County and within cities contracting for County service.

Pet Stop Reunion and Adoption Event on Nov. 21 The Antelope Valley Pet Stop will have its first reunion Saturday, Nov. 21, inviting those who have adopted pets from the facility to bring friends and family who might also want to adopt. Dogs at the AV Pet Stop, which is run by the County Department of Animal Care and Control , are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped -- and immediately available to go home with their new owners the same day.

Animal Facilities Graded Animal facility inspection grades are posted on the County Animal Care and Control website. Grades are given by the federal Department of Agriculture.
