Elections & Voting

The Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk (RRCC) is responsible for registering voters and maintaining voter files; conducting federal, state, local and special elections; and verifying initiatives, referendums, and recall petitions. With more than 500 political districts and 4.3 million registered voters, the County is the largest and most complex election jurisdiction in the nation. The RRCC conducts about 200 city, school and special district elections annually.


Highlights



Cross-Over Voting Available to Non-Partisan Voters
Voters who are registered as decline to state or non-partisan will be allowed to vote on Democratic or Republican party ballots in the June 8 statewide primary election. Those who do not wish to cross over may vote a non-partisan ballot limited to statewide and local measures and non-partisan contests
