As the largest employer in the five-County region, Los Angeles County provides numerous job opportunities to residents. A centralized website lists job openings, and a job application may be submitted online. Most of the positions are covered by civil service rules.

Summer Youth Jobs
Youths looking for a summer job should contact the Los Angeles County Workforce Investment Board. Opportunities are available for low-income youths between the ages of 14-24.

Veterans Intern Program
Paid internships are available for qualified veterans of the U.S. armed forces. The 12-24 month program is intended to provide work experience that will enable veterans to effectively compete for permanent County jobs.

Student Workers
Youth wanting to work for the County while they are still in school will find a number of opportunities available in various departments.
